In the heart of Domaine de Solvay, Chateau de la Hulpe was the perfect backdrop for Elizabeth and Alexander’s wedding—an event that radiated elegance, warmth, and connection. Although the day began with rain, the love and joy of the couple brightened every moment.
A Love Story from New York to Belgium
Elizabeth, a fashion designer from Texas, and Alexander, with his Belgian-Indian roots, met in New York City, where their love story unfolded. Now based in NYC, they brought a cosmopolitan energy to the quiet beauty of Chateau de la Hulpe, blending the vibrancy of their lives with the classic charm of their wedding venue. The day before the wedding, they embraced Alexander’s heritage with a vibrant Sangeet celebration, honoring his Indian roots with music, dance, and joyful festivities that set the perfect tone for the big day.
A Cozy Ceremony in a Historic Setting
The rainy weather only added intimacy to their ceremony. With 150 guests gathered in one of the castle’s elegant rooms, the setting felt close and personal. The wooden paneling and soft light enhanced the beauty of Elizabeth’s thoughtful and creative touches and the Ikebana flowers, which elevated the ceremony’s refined simplicity.
Laughter and Joy Between the Raindrops
As the rain let up, guests moved between the castle’s grand rooms and the lush gardens outside. Laughter echoed through the chateau as fun games lightened the mood, adding a relaxed yet joyful touch. The lively atmosphere was balanced by the elegance of the setting, where both sophistication and playfulness coexisted beautifully.
A Bride with Impeccable Style
Elizabeth’s fashion expertise was clear throughout the day, particularly through her three carefully curated dresses.
Her first gown, shown in the images, was breathtaking—a delicate silk creation that draped her figure gracefully. The lace veil, cascading in a long train, added timeless elegance, while the intricate pearl tiara completed her regal look.
For the couple’s first dance, Elizabeth changed into her second dress, a deeply sentimental piece—a family heirloom worn by her mother, lovingly refreshed and remade to reflect her modern style. The personal history in this gown added another layer of meaning to the day.
As the evening unfolded, Elizabeth made a final change into her third outfit: a chic, playful white ensemble with a fun Texan twist. Paired with a cowboy hat and boots, it was a nod to her roots, bringing a lighthearted spirit to the celebration that delighted her guests.
A Day to Remember
Elizabeth and Alexander’s wedding at Chateau de la Hulpe was a true reflection of their love—elegant, joyful, and rich in meaning. Despite the weather, the day was flawless in its beauty and authenticity. From the cozy ceremony to the lively dancing, every moment was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
A special thanks to Francesco, who captured these memories by my side.
