Willem wanted it to be a complete surprise: he was so focused on every little detail for his engagement photos at Mont des Arts! When he first called me, he was both excited and nervous, asking if I could help organize the perfect moment. One of his main requests was the flowers—a bouquet of 50 pink roses that had to magically appear right at the perfect time during the proposal.

Coordinating everything wasn't easy. From planning the delivery of the roses to ensuring they arrived at the exact right moment at Mont des Arts, it took quite a bit of orchestration. But when the day arrived, every detail fell beautifully into place.

Willem, originally from the Netherlands, now lives in sunny California where he met the love of his life, Morgan. She is as radiant in person as she is in the photos, and you could feel the warmth of their connection during our initial video call. I was thrilled to capture such a special chapter in their love story.

On the day of the shoot, we started by meeting at the Grand Place in Brussels. It’s always a wonderful way to ease into a photoshoot, especially for a couple so in love. We strolled through the city, capturing moments of laughter and love as they held hands, walking through the charming streets.

As we made our way to Mont des Arts, I knew the magic moment was approaching. Willem had everything planned to perfection, and as we reached the gardens, that’s when the secret signal was given. The bouquet of roses arrived at just the right time, and Willem got down on one knee. The tears, the smiles, the pure emotion—it was like something straight out of a classic movie.

After the proposal, we spent some more time capturing their joy and celebration, making the most of the golden light at Mont des Arts.
